I remember a day over 15 years ago. A bright and frigid January day in New Hampshire, sunshine glittering off ice covered apple trees. I'd just bought a used, fully manual Nikon camera and was humorously attempting to catch the sparkling prisms and intricate patterns left by the previous nights wondrous storm. Unbelievably I did! I think it was over a year before I shot anything that came out nearly as well.

From that moment on I've never stopped being aware of light. Light and its absolutely all-consuming influence over everything we see and feel. Not only does it effect how images are projected through my lens and onto the film, but it also shapes and forms my mood, as well as the feelings and emotions of my clients. Light is the key to my art….In the past ten years I've focused primary on understanding the amazing synergy of this magical light, the human heart, and my passion and skill in photography. Weddings and portrait work have provided me with the most significant experience, but capturing scenic wonders has also shaped my path. Having been given the opportunity to shoot well over 200 weddings, and countless unique souls, I've learned something very important… It's not all about me!

Regardless of my mastery of technical equipment, my knowledge of the ever-shifting light, my ability to engage my clients and environments - all this aside - photography is about magic…. There is a feeling I get when everything comes together, a feeling I know and love. Capturing a magic moment in time is precious. My skill as a photographer, and my 33 years of wonderful life experiences both combine to bring such moments to film.

By placing myself into situations where this magic is apt to happen, I have a much higher chance of embracing my hearts desire - of photographing magical moments of love and life. Weddings are full of such moments, as well as a myriad of other exquisite expressions of individuality and life. Alive Studios has built its reputation on my interpretation of these powerful expressions of commitment, love, and passion. Until I feel differently, I will enthusiastically embrace each and every assignment with a passion for life and a childlike exuberance - what else could be more fun!!!!
