Jitka Perez - Photographer, Partner - e-mail Jitka
 Jitka grew up in the Czech Republic where in her adolescence years she first started to discover the amazing potential of photography. Her love of nature encouraged her to begin capturing images outdoors while wandering through the lush forest and around the vast lakes of Eastern Europe. After graduating from Medical High School (with a major in physical therapy) she spent 8 months in London studying English as a second language. The radically different environment only served to further develop her love of photography.  Jitka traveled extensively during this period of discovery, exposing many rolls of film with beautiful architecture, landscape, nature, and crazy city life. The feedback from her friends and family was continuously supportive and encouraged her to go even further with her artistic skill. After a year of language school in South Bohemia, where she immersed herself in refining her grasp of the English language, Jitka decided to go to the United States through the Au-pouir childcare program. This brought her to Boulder Colorado, where she has lived for the past five years.
Upon arriving, the first thing Jitka saved her money for was a nice Canon camera, which quickly became one of her best friends. She enrolled in a few photography classes at CU and started doing more creative shoots of Boulder life and the surrounding scenic majesty. In early 2000 Jitka met Benjamin and became Alive Studios’ first official assistant photographer. Her skills were further developed by helping out with weddings, portrait shoots, and general business duties. As Alive Studios grew, Jitka graduated to lead assistant with Alive Studios, and within a year had developed into a partner photographer. She now continues to assist Benjamin at times, but is more often found as the lead photographer at wedding celebrations across the front range.
Jitka still enjoys capturing nature images as well as documenting her travels throughout the United States, Europe, and South America.  When not shooting weddings or working in the studio, she will often be seen on the trails of the front range hiking with her German Shepard, snow shooing, biking, and rollarblading; always with camera of course. A soon to be mom with her husband Tony, Jitka also passionately embraces photographing babies and pregnant women, as well as creatively capturing family dynamics and portraiture. All those that have the opportunity to work with Jitka experience a liveliness and zest for life that is refreshing and contributes significantly to the work she embraces.
