As explained in the Wedding Philosophy section of this site, charges are broken into two phases. Phase one pricing with Alive Studios is determined by the amount of time spent shooting your wedding, and the cost of materials. Time is billed at between $150/hour and $250/hour, for time worked on the day of your wedding. For materials, a charge of $2/proof image presented is billed. We believe in charging you up front for exactly what is delivered. Time, materials, period.

Each of our photographers has a differnet style and a rate consistant with their experience. Rates are as follows:

Benjamin - $250/hour
Jitka - $175/hour
Johannah - $150/hour
Catie - $150/hour
Allison - $150/hour

Nikon Professional Digital Cameras are used. For most weddings, we shoot approximately 75 - 100 images per hour (any mix of color or B&W presented) for the entire celebration. This provides you with between 300 to 1000 proofs. An average of between six and ten hours is typical for most celebrations. This puts final costs for phase one between $2000 and $3500 depending on which photographer you work with.

It is very difficult to estimate phase two costs because it's entirely up to you how many enlargements to order, what type of album, etc. You can use the following information to develop a fairly accurate idea of your overall costs.

Reprint and enlargement costs are:

Wallet size = 2 for $7
4" x 6" reprint = $7
5" x 7" enlargement = $14
8" x 12" enlargement = $28
11"x14" enlargement = $55
12" x 18" enlargement = $75

From our extensive experience we have found that most couples spend about 1/4 to 1/3 again as much on reprints, enlargements and albums as they do on phase one. Building a unique album is all subject how much you like pictures, the type of album you choose, etc. and can vary in cost significantly.
